Guitar Lessons is a short film about Claire, a lonely mother who feels she is no longer getting the affection she needs from her workaholic husband. She seeks solace by having a fling with her daughter's guitar teacher. The daughter discovers the relationship, fights with Claire, and as a direct result, the daughter is involved in a fatal car accident. The film ends with a rapid reverse montage that brings us back to the moment when Claire first kisses the guitar teacher. This time she does not kiss him. We realize that the infidelity in the last half of the film has been in her imagination. The last shot of the film is her husband returning home from work to a romantic heartfelt embrace from Claire. She has found her strength and peace within herself. The message of the movie is 'Love is often still present, even if at times a marriage looks bleak.'
